  • Project manage systems engineering redesigns of important farm subsystems (lighting, irrigation, HVAC, etc), ensuring that design requirements are clearly defined and progress stays on track
  • Coordinate the day to day efforts of the Bowery team and all external subcontractors and vendors during each installation or redesign process, pushing through roadblocks and ensuring tight coordination
  • Manage subcontractor bidding and negotiations processes and build positive relationships with the external parties involved in each installation
  • Understand the intricacies and interdependent elements for each installation and use this knowledge to accurately estimate and publish project costs and labor hours
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation, permitting and regulatory inspections are obtained and kept up to date
  • Provide regular progress and budget updates to the senior Bowery leadership team, and work with the systems engineering team to find creative ways to shorten timelines and lower installation budgets
  • Work with the head of farm development to scope and build out timelines for subsystem improvement projects

Who you are

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or Operations, or equivalent experience
  • You have 6-8+ years of experience in technical project management, including experience with construction and/or retrofit of manufacturing or logistics facilities, and you have managed projects from requirements definition and scoping through design, build, and commissioning
  • You are familiar with construction and manufacturing documentation and permitting requirements (bonus if you are also familiar with food safety regulations)
  • You have exceptional attention to detail, and can recommend and fluently use tools for managing project scope, schedule and budget
  • You are able to consolidate inputs from a variety of engineering and non-engineering sources to produce clearly communicated project scope documents
  • You have extensive experience maximizing the efficiency and output of subcontractors, consulting engineers, and installation GCs and teams
  • You have a proactive, hands-on personality, are comfortable in highly dynamic environments and can react calmly and effectively in an emergency
  • You’re an excellent oral and written communicator
  • You believe that teams succeed and fail together and take responsibility for ensuring the success and satisfaction of your teammates
